POSITIONS VACANT: The Great Lakes Women’s Shelter’s positions vacant (Shelter Manager / Case Workers) closing date has been extended until 5th November 2015. Please note: regarding the case worker positions – we do not expect an employee to be on call 24/7, but rather be included within an ‘on-call’ roster.

The Forster Neighbourhood Centre first opened it’s doors in 1980 as an incorporated association – locally managed, employing local people, to address the changing needs of the Great Lakes community.

Forster Neighbourhood Centre is currently supported financially by:

  • The State Department of Families and Community Services (FACS) – Community Builders (CB) program and Early Intervention and Placement Program (EIPP),
  • The Commonwealth Department of Social Services – Financial Counselling Program, Emergency Relief and
    No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS),
  • The State Office of Fair Trading – (NILS) and Financial Counselling
  • Club Forster – Neighbourhood Kitchen and Community Food Store
  • Great Lakes Council – small grant
